Pretty even first half ending in nil-nil. Stats slightly favored Flyers. Second half start was abysmal. Illinois put up 3 quick goals including one on a PK. Dayton claws back on a PK of their own and a goal by Huber but cannot get the equalizer. Just can't give up 3 goals and expect to win.
Pretty much as predicted for this team. They will definitely score much more than last year, but will continue to be challenged defensively. Their success will be determined by how much and if the defense can improve. I am sure Golz and staff will be working on it.
