[Women's Soccer] CU's Johnson Named NAIA WSOC Defensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) named Mikayla Johnson of Cornerstone as its Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman recorded back-to-back shutouts during the week of Sept. 18-24 including a clean sheet against then No. 16-ranked Taylor University (Ind.). Johnson is the second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) player to be named a national player of the week in women's soccer. Romane Salvador of Northwestern Ohio earned the honor on Sept. 5.
