Africa Championship begins as Kenya, South Africa, Uganda battle for two WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup spots
The Women's Softball Africa Championship is underway in Nairobi, Kenya with world No. 37 South Africa, No. 54 Kenya and Uganda competing for two available spots in the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup 2026/2027.
The three teams are playing a double round robin on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November, followed by play-offs also on Saturday. The top seed after the round robin will earn a spot in the World Cup, while the second- and third-place teams will meet in the final for the second available berth in the global tournament.

- Game 3 - KEN vs UGA
29 November 2025
- Game 4 - UGA - KEN
- Game 5 - KEN vs RSA
- Game 6 - RSA vs UGA
- Game 7 - Round Robin 3 vs Round Robin 2
The XVIII WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup will be played under the two-stage format, with the Group Stage taking place in 2026 and the Finals in 2027.
Group A will open the tournament in Prague, Czechia, from 16 to 20 June 2026; Group B will be played at the Villa María del Triunfo Softball Stadium in Lima, Peru, from 14 to 18 July 2026, and the Group Stage will conclude in Oklahoma City, USA, where Group C will be played from 12 to 16 September 2026 at OKC Softball Park (Devon Park), the venue of the LA28 Olympic softball competition.
The WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals will be held at Talobilla Park in Redcliffe, 45 minutes from Brisbane, from 5 to 11 April 2027.
