Baseball and Softball feature at 15th National Games of China as state-of-the-art facility opens in Zhongshan

The 15th National Games of China are taking place across Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macau, featuring baseball and softball among the sports on the programme, with nine participating teams in each competition.

Both tournaments are being staged at the newly inaugurated Zhongshan International Baseball and Softball Center in Zhongshan, China (pictured below). With a total investment of 400 million yuan, the complex includes the existing Pandas Heritage Stadium and two newly built fields, covering a total land area of 146.21 mu. The new facility features a baseball field, a softball field, an indoor training hall, and a 3,282.41-square-metre support building.

The 15th National Games of China is a multi-sport event held from 9 to 21 November 2025 across Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau. It marks the third time that Guangdong has hosted the National Games (after 1987 and 2001) and the first time the two Special Administrative Regions — Hong Kong and Macau — have served as co-hosts. It is also the first edition in history to be jointly hosted by multiple provinces.

Women’s Softball

The Women’s Softball competition runs from 10 to 18 November, with nine teams divided into two groups for the Opening Round:

  • Group A: Guangdong, Shaanxi, Shanghai, Sichuan
  • Group B: Beijing, Henan, Hong Kong, Jiangsu, Liaoning

After the Opening Round, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, carrying their head-to-head results. The top two teams in the Super Round standings will play for the gold medal, while the third and fourth place finishers will meet for the bronze medal.

Men’s Baseball

The Men’s Baseball tournament takes place from 14 to 20 November, with the following group distribution:

  • Group A: Guangdong, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Shanghai
  • Group B: Henan, Beijing, Liaoning, Hong Kong, Jiangsu

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on 19 November, followed by both medal games on 20 November.
