Morning Briefing: David Stearns Not Ready To Call Up McLean, Sproat

0 7

Good morning, Mets fans!

David Stearns met with the media and says he is not quite ready to call up young pitchers Nolan McLean and Brandon Sproat. “We may get to the point where we decide that it’s the best thing to do to bring one or both of them here, but we’re not at that point quite yet,” he said.

Stearns did say, “I think they’re getting close.” McLean has pitched in 14 games between Double-A and Triple-A to a 3.01 ERA this season  Brandon Sproat has pitched in 21 games in Triple-A to a 4.07 ERA.
