WBSC Congress to take place 16-18 October in Bangkok, Thailand
The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced that Bangkok, Thailand, will host the 6th WBSC Ordinary Congress from 16-18 October, 2025.
Baseball and softball leaders and delegates from over 140 countries and territories will gather at the Grand Fourwings Convention Hotel to discuss and decide the future direction and global strategy of the sport, in addition to voting on Baseball/Softball’s expansion through new Members (i.e., National Federations and Associate Members).
In conjunction with the Congress, Bangkok will also host WBSC Executive Meetings and workshops. Full event info available here.
The WBSC has 185 full members, seven provisional members, and 14 associate members.
Two new members and a member update has been approved by the WBSC Executive Board, subject to the ratification of the WBSC Congress.
- Federation Guineenne de Baseball Softball – new affiliation (Guinea Conakry - GUI)
- Nigerien Baseball & Softball Federation – new affiliation (Niger - NIG)
- Federação Portuguesa de Basebol e Softbol has now included Softball governance, becoming a “combined” NF.

The gathering of baseball and softball’s global leaders in Bangkok will take place at the end of another impressive international Baseball/Softball events calendar which includes two WBSC Baseball World Cups and Baseball Champions League, two WBSC Softball World Cups and The World Games plus the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup.
The WBSC Congress is the highest legal authority within the world governing body of baseball and softball, and the 2025 edition in Bangkok marks the third time it will be held in Asia following the two most recent in-person congresses in 2022 in Taipei City (TPE) and 2019 in Sakai, (JPN).
