WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup star Bryce Eldridge becomes San Francisco Giants Minor League Player of the Year

WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2021 MVP Bryce Eldridge was honoured by the Baseball America magazine as the San Francisco Giants Minor League Player of the Year.

Eldridge, who will turn 20 on October 20, has gone from Class A to Triple-A during the 2024 campaign, his second professional season. He combined 23 home runs and 91 RBIs, playing mainly at first base and designated hitter.

Eldridge earned MVP honours at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2021, which was played in Florida, USA in 2022, going 6-for-19 with three home runs as a left-handed hitter and earning one win and one save without allowing a run as a right-handed pitcher. His exploits at the WBSC U-18 tournament also earned him USA Baseball Athlete of the Year award.

The Giants drafted him out of James Madison High School in Vienna, Virginia, at No. 16 overall. He signed on July 17, 2023, for a US$ 4 million bonus.
