Czechia announce roster for WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup in Argentina

<p>European champions and world No. 6 Czechia unveiled their roster for the upcoming <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2023-u-23-mens-softball-world-cup/home"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup</span></strong></a>, set to be played in Parana, Argentina, from 15-23 April. A total of 10 players participated in the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2022-mens-softball-world-cup/home"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup 2022</span></strong></a>, where Czechia finished in ninth place.</p>

<p>Four players are veterans of <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2020-u18-mens-softball-world-cup/teams/1726" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Czechia’s 2020 U-18 national team (opens in a new tab)">Czechia’s 2020 U-18 national team</a></span></strong> that won a historic bronze medal in the World Cup played in Palmerston North, New Zealand: A. Buchner, Osička, Luňák and Vašíček.</p>

<p>Originally planned to take place in 2022, the tournament was postponed to 2023 so the age limit for the tournament has been extended to allow all eligible players in 2022 to compete in the tournament in April.</p>

<p>Czechia qualified for the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup after winning the European Championship in July 2022. The Czechs dominated the final against Denmark, 16-1.</p>
