[Indoor Track and Field] Horning, Giles earn USTFCCCA Academic Honor
NEW ORLEANS – Friends University Cross Country senior student-athletes Logan Horning (SR/Ormond Beach, Fla. ) and Caroline Giles (SR/Minneapolis, Kan.) have each earned the 2022 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic award, the organization announced today (Jan. 26).
To be named a USTFCCCA All-Academic athlete, the student-athlete must maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA and qualify for the national meet.
Horning majors in business administration, while Giles is a Health Sciences major.
Additionally, under first-year head coach Sam Lloyd-Perks, both the women's and men's cross country programs are NAIA USTFCCCA All-Academic teams, given to teams with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point-average.
"I'm proud of both teams for their excellent performances in the classroom this past semester," said Lloyd-Perks. Juggling academics with training isn't always an easy task, but they performed excellently!"
