Morning Briefing: Astros Sweep Mets Again

Good morning, Mets fans!

The Houston Astros swept the Mets again after defeating the Mets Wednesday 2-0. Taijuan Walker pitched a gem of 7 1/3 scoreless innings but Drew Smith allowed a two-run home run with two outs in the ninth inning that decided the game. Dan Quiñones has more on the game.

Max Scherzer allowed three runs (two earned) in 4 2/3 innings in his rehab start for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies last night. The earliest that he can pitch for the Mets would be Monday against the Cincinnati Reds.
