[Women's Golf] Hart receives CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team award
WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University women's golf senior student-athlete Maddy Hart has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team as a first-team honoree, the organization released today (May 20).
As a first-team all-district selection, Hart now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with first-, second-and third-team Academic All-America honorees being announced in mid-June.
Voted on by CoSIDA members, eligible nominees must have maintained a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average, be a starter or important reserve, competed in at least 50 percent of their team's games, completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution, and been on a college roster in that sport for two years.
A mainstay of the Falcon Women's Golf program, Hart has played in every event since 2017.
The El Dorado, Kan. native shot an individual school record (77-78-155) last April (2021) at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic to fuel the Falcons to a school-record team score (337-331-668) at the event.
A graduate student with a major in Teaching and Learning, Hart was the Falcons' 2018 Champion of Character recipient while also earning both NAIA and KCAC Scholar-Athlete honors.
"Madison "Maddy" Hart was a five-year starter for our women's golf team, as she received an extra year of eligibility due to COVID-19," said Friends women's golf head coach Paul Howe. "Maddy not only holds the school record for a two-day tournament but has also earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Friends University."
