[Baseball] Golden Eagles Top Hawks on Opening Day

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Golden Eagles scored early and often as they spoiled the season-opener for the SDCC baseball team on Thursday.

 

La Sierra scored five runs in the first, three in the second and three in the fifth en route to a 15-4 win over the Hawks.

 

SDCC tallied five hits in the contest. They scored their first run on the season with a Ryan Lystlund sac fly scoring Tre Pankratz in the top of the second inning.

 

The Hawks added an RBI walk from Pankratz that scored Symon Tabello in the third. SDCC was shutout the rest of the way until the top of the ninth. Aaron Hoch and Cade Cabral scored on a fielding error with two outs.

 

Five different Hawks recorded a hit.

 

SDCC is back on the diamond on Friday as they host their first game of 2022. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. against Embry-Riddle.
