Sean Burke cruised to the win as our No. 13-voted prospect, earning 33% (46 of 140 votes). The rest of the ballot proceeded as expected, with the fun tie for eighth between the two Mcs (McDougal/McClure).

As 2021’s third round pick for the White Sox, this is Burke’s first year in the poll. Last year, Zack Burdi was voted our No. 13 prospect. In 2020, No. 13 was Drew Dalquist, who remains on our ballot this year.

Jason Bilous was shut out in his poll debut, earning zero votes.

Next up on the ballot is our first 1B prospect, sweet-swinging Wilfred Veras.

Bilous dominated at Winston-Salem to start the season (2.45 ERA and 0.886 WHIP in three starts) but struggled at Birmingham. The White Sox may see if he can hang in a Double-A rotation (while still younger than league average) before moving him back into the bullpen, where his power arm may play better.

Dalquist managed to stay healthy in 2021, unlike his rotation counterparts Matthew Thompson and Jared Kelley. While solid but unspectacular, Dalquist may have positioned himself as the first of the trio to see Winston-Salem.

While not officially a member of the White Sox organization until January 2022, it is widely assumed that Hernández will join the White Sox organization. He bats left, and has been comped — for what comping is worth — to Juan Soto. He is still just 16 years old, not turning 17 until January.

The McDougal signing was quite a score for the White Sox after drafting him in last year’s fifth round out of Silverado H.S. in Las Vegas. However, his cursory pro assignment in Arizona ended in injury, and McDougal will miss the 2022 season after Tommy John surgery.
