Dodgers still facing possible elimination

The 2021 American League pennant is wrapped up, with the Houston Astros headed to the World Series for the third time in five years. Now it’s time to decide the National League this weekend.

The Atlanta Braves hold a 3-2 series lead in the NLCS, over the Los Angeles Dodgers, but they need one more win to advance. The Dodgers won Game 5 on Thursday by an emphatic 11-2 score, keeping their hopes alive and sending the matchup back to Atlanta, but they’ll need two more victories on the road at Truist Park to complete a series comeback.

Game 6 tonight features Walker Buehler on the mound for Los Angeles. He started in Game 3 and got knocked around, exiting in the 4th inning, and there could be heavy bullpen use again this evening. Atlanta counters with Ian Anderson, who pitched three innings in Game 2 of the series.

The Dodgers also made a roster move. Pitcher Joe Kelly went on the injured list, and former Cy Young winner David Price was called up to replace him.
