Sporcle Friday: Best Mariner wRC+ by Season

An above average hitter every year!

The Seattle Mariners’ hitting: it is not great. You don’t need me to tell you this. It hasn’t been great for a long time, and I have decided that now is the team to remember how not-great it’s been.

The Mariners have, thankfully, almost always had a hitter who is legitimately good. As you’ll come to find in this Sporcle, there are a few exceptions: the early 2010’s were truly dark times for everyone, as were the early 1980’s. With that said, the highs were just as extreme: the mid 1990’s and early 2000’s saw peaks that the team may not reach for decades, if they ever do again.

This Sporcle includes the Mariner that led the team in wRC+ every season. In an effort to include some more fun names (as well as increase the difficulty somewhat), I have lowered the plate appearance requirement to just 200. Happy guessing!
