What a great weekend! The Rays hosted the (formerly) first place Boston Red Sox, and pulled off a three game sweep to claim the top spot for themselves. Next up is a three game set against Seattle beginning tonight at the Trop.

Jeffrey Springs goes to the IL with a sprained knee, which is a much better outcome than anticipated.

Bad news on Chris Archer.

However, the #Rays say Archer was removed after 1 IP/31 pitches due to left hip soreness. The #Rays say Archer couldn’t get his footing on the mound so it was precautionary.

The Mets did not sign their top draft pick Kumar Rocker.
The New York Mets and Kumar Rocker, their first-round pick, did not come to an agreement on a deal. The Mets will get the 11th pick in the 2022 draft as compensation. Rocker will forgo returning to Vanderbilt and begin his pro career. He is now draft-eligible for 2022.
