Dbacks snakebit; Yankees trade in a Ford; Dodgers make a smooth move

Zach Buchanan | The Athletic $: The Diamondbacks lost to the Giants 10-3 on Wednesday, but it’s so much worse than that. Arizona has now lost 23 road games in a row, which sets a major league record.

Andrew Mearns | Pinstripe Alley: The Yankees traded Mike Ford to the Rays in exchange for cash considerations. In 72 plate appearances, Ford hit .133/.278/.283 before he was designated for assignment on June 12.

Blake Harris | True Blue LA: The Dodgers activated Garrett Cleavinger from the injured list, and to make room on the roster, Los Angeles traded Dennis Santana to the Texas Rangers. In 15 innings, Santana had allowed 11 runs, walked 11, and struck out eight. The Dodgers received Kelvin Bautista in return.

Quick Hits

Down to their final strike, the Reds rallied back to tie the Padres on a Tyler Stephenson single. This set up a go-ahead, two-run homer off the bat of Jonathan India.

Unfortunately for the Reds, Eric Hosmer re-tied the game on a two-run homer of his own in the bottom of the frame.

...and then Victor Caratini walked it off with another two-run homer.

The Yankees turned their second triple play of the season. This is the first time the Yankees have accomplished such a feat.
