Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Predictions and Picks
Something has clearly gotten into Stephen Curry as he looks like a man possessed whenever he finds himself behind the three-point line. In Curry’s last three games, he’s connected on 29 three-pointers. That’s an average of nearly 10 three-pointers per game. There are some teams in the NBA that even struggle to hit that many collectively in one outing.
It’s almost as if Curry took stock of what he could accomplish in the remainder of this season, and he decided that going to the playoffs is one thing, and reclaiming the single-game three-point record from his teammate Klay Thompson is another.
Here’s Curry on how attainable he thinks that record is at the moment:

It’s not uncommon that two superstars will still compete with one another even when one of them is sidelined with an injury.
I’m sure there’s a back story to this, whether it’s something that came up in conversation or something that’s somehow part of a wager somewhere. The fact of the matter is that Curry is locked in at the moment, and that’s good news for Warriors’ fans and Warriors’ bettors alike. And the more Curry talks about this single-game record, so will the media. So he might as well go ahead and wrap it up.
This approach is clearly a concerted effort by Curry. And as long as the Warriors are winning games and fighting for a chance to reach the playoffs, I don’t think we’ll see him deviate from it anytime soon.
Tonight, they’ll face a Cleveland team that they’ve dominated in the past, as evidenced by the ATS trends above.
Cleveland is also dead last in the league with an average of 9.7 three-point field goals per game this season. That means they’re unlikely to match Curry shot for shot from beyond the arc. If that’s the case, I don’t see how they can stay within the point spread considering how well Curry is stroking it.
Golden State has won their last three games by double digits while Curry has been on this three-point tear. I’ll look for more of the same tonight, so I’ll lay the eight points with the Warriors on the road.
The Pick: Warriors -8
