Astros Unexpectedly Add Multiple Players To Injury List
Astros beat reporter Brian McTaggart reports that multiple players have been added to the 10-day IL. Those players include second baseman Jose Altuve, catcher Martin Maldonado, third baseman Alex Bregman, and utility infielder Robel Garcia. Houston added all four players to the list with undisclosed reasons, which fuels speculation that the Astros could be dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak in their clubhouse.
Houston is trying to snap a four-game series and salvage a game in their series with the Tigers before a day off on Thursday. The Tigers have outscored Houston 14 to 4 thus far through 18 innings.
Lance McCullers Jr. will get the start for Houston, while Michael Fuller gets the nod for Detroit. With the first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET, there’s no word at this time if the commissioner’s office is stepping in to postpone the game.
