Taijuan Walker, Marcus Stroman To Tackle Tuesday's Twin Slate

As announced by manager Luis Rojas after the cancelation of Monday evening’s game, the Mets will start Taijuan Walker and Marcus Stroman in Tuesday’s double header against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Walker was scheduled to start Tuesday night’s game originally, and will get the ball in Game 1. Stroman was not scheduled to take the mound until his next time through the rotation after throwing nine pitches in Sunday’s suspended game against the Miami Marlins.

However, according to Rojas, Stroman felt good after throwing a side-session this afternoon, and is now slated to start the night cap of tomorrow’s festivities.

Monday’s originally scheduled starter, left-hander David Peterson, is now expected to start Wednesday night’s game. He will be followed by Jacob deGrom to close out the four-game set.

It will be interesting to see how Rojas and the Mets handle their starting rotation heading into this weekend’s series with the Colorado Rockies. It should be expected that Joey Lucchesi will start his first game of the season at some point this week.
