Salvy is starting to hit some big career milestones.

Salvador Perez has already won accolades as an All-Star, Gold Glove winner, Silver Slugger winner, and World Series MVP. Now that he is 30, we can start seeing him pass impressive career milestones.

Salvy was off to a slow start this year, hitting just .185 going into tonight’s game against the Angels, and he was a few hits shy of 1,000 for his career. He got his season kick-started with singles in the first and fourth inning. Then in the sixth, he put the Royals on the board with an RBI single to lift his average all the way to .267. The hit was the 1,000th of his career.

Salvy has 479 hits at home, 521 on the road. Of his 1,000 hits, 933 have come with him as a catcher. He has 26 hits against Justin Verlander, more than any other pitcher.

Salvy becomes just the 13th player in franchise history to reach the 1,000 hit plateau.

In fact, in all of baseball history there have only been 81 players who spent at least 75 percent of their playing time at catcher that have 1,000 hits. Salvy is now one of them.

Congrats Salvy! We all look forward to 1,000 more hits out of you!
