Reds at Diamondbacks, Game 1 - Preview and Lineups
The 5-1 Reds head to the desert for their first road series of the year.
Tyler Mahle goes for Cincinnati tonight, after a solid start in Game 2 this year. He struck out 9 but got hit hard, with most of the damage coming from two solo ding dongs by Paul DeJong. The good news for Mahle is that Arizona’s shortstop is on the shelf for this series, as Ketel Marte hit the IL last night.
The Reds have Jesse Winker back in the lineup, after missing the Pirates series with an illness that was *not* COVID thankyouverymuch. Tyler Naquin and his hot bat stays in the lineup today, spelling Nick Senzel in CF. They’ll face Taylor Widener, who threw 6 shutout frames against San Diego in his season debut.
Game starts at 9:40 ET. Go Reds.
