Embiid, Simmons ruled out of All-Star Game

Philadelphia 76er’s stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons will miss tonight’s All-Star Game due to contact tracing, part of the league’s health and safety protocol.

According to reports, Embiid and Simmons have come into contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 before arriving in Atlanta for the game.

Other members of the 76ers coaching staff have not been affected because they were not exposed to the individual who tested positive.

The impact could extend beyond the All-Star break. Both are essential to the 76ers production. Embiid, the favorite to win the MVP at +190, averaging 33 minutes, scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and three assists per game. Starting in 31 games this season, Simmons has averaged 34 minutes, 16 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists per game.

The 76ers travel to Chicago Thursday to face the Bulls. They are +1200 to win the NBA Championship on FanDuel Sportsbook.
