Report: JJ Watt Signing With the Arizona Cardinals

0 2

After an interesting free agency saga that included people trying to decipher hidden messages on his Twitter account and pelotons, Watt put an end to the speculation on Monday. He tweeted out a picture of himself in a Cardinals’ shirt, and Ian Rapoport reports that he will sign with the Cardinals for two years and $31M. The deal will include $23M in guaranteed money, and he will join DeAndre Hopkins as Texans’ stars to relocate to Arizona over the past two offseasons.

Watt won the AP Defensive Player of the Year award three times between 2012 and 2015, but health has been an issue since then. He did manage to stay healthy last year, but he finished with just five sacks in 16 games. That was the lowest total of his career in a full season, so it will be interesting to see if he can recapture his elite form in the desert.
