[Men's Basketball] No. 5 Firestorm Drop Hawks
SAN DIEGO – Teyden Gause went 6-for-11 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc for a team-high 19 points but the No. 5 Firestorm proved too strong for the Hawks, winning 100-64.
The loss drops the Hawks to 0-2 in early conference play.
ACU stormed out to a 20-4 lead in the first six minutes of the half. Their lead grew to 35-8 halfway through the half. Joe Silveira's layup with 8:53 left to play stopped ACU's run but the Firestorm kept hitting shots.
Robby Wilson's layup with three seconds grew ACU's lead to 57-23.
SDC shot 39 percent from the floor.
The Hawks will travel to Life Pacific on Friday and Saturday.
