WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Competitive Cheer program has been tabbed third in the KCAC Preseason Coach's Poll, released following today's (Dec. 3) virtual Media Day.

Bethel College was the preseason favorite, receiving six of seven first-place votes for 42 points.

Kansas Wesleyan University garnered the lone remaining first-place tally and came in second with 32 points.

The Falcons, under head coach Jill Fenske, was next in line with 30 points.

Bethany College and Sterling College rounded out the top five.

"I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to participate in media day this year!" Fenske said.

"We are ready to get this season rolling and show the world what we have been working on. The 2021 Falcon Cheer Team has a huge opportunity to place higher at the conference competition compared to previous years. Third is a very solid number to start in and we feel confident that we can put in the time and effort to move up!"

The Falcons return a pair of second team all-conference performers (Justyn Smith (JR/Wichita, Kan. ), German Andrade (SR/Wichita, Kan. )) from last season and received the prestigious KCAC Team of Character in the 2020 campaign.

Friends is set to begin its season on Jan 23 at home with the "Day of Duels" inside the Garvey Center.
