[Women's Cross Country] Price, Pannell finish 1-2; Bears win Patty Forgey Invitational

Fairland High School graduates and Shawnee State standouts Jessica Price and Mckenna Pannell finished one-two at the Patty Forgey Invitational Saturday afternoon, and despite running Price as an unattached runner, the Bears still notched a team victory by edging West Virginia Tech by three points en route to top honors in Rio Grande.

Price, who ran a 19:34 en route to top honors, bested Pannell by more than 40 seconds en route to winning the Patty Forgey Invitational Women's 5K Run, while Pannell, who ran a 20:17 flat, beat third-place runner and Asbury harrier Bethany Hamilton by 27 seconds as the pair dominated the event. Pannell, who did run as part of SSU's scoring unit for the event, was counted as the top scoring runner for the group.
