Morning Briefing: Mets Head Into Doubleheader On Last Breaths

0 5

Good Morning, Mets fans!

It is already the penultimate day of the regular season. Rick Porcello and Jacob deGrom will be taking the mound today in the Mets’ doubleheader against the Nationals.

As this could be Porcello’s last start as a Met with the pitcher’s one-year contract set to end. Hopefully, he carries some of the same command his last start held into today’s.

Porcello was originally planned to start in last night’s game, but rough weather in D.C lead to the game being postponed.

DeGrom is set to start the other game of the doubleheader, in hopes of boosting his stats in the chase of his third straight Cy Young award.

The Mets have yet to announce which pitcher will be starting which game, but they will be facing Max Scherzer (4-4, 3.67 ERA) in the first game and Anibal Sanchez (3-5, 6.80 ERA) in the second.

The first game is set to start at 3:05 pm ET with the second game to follow. Both games can be viewed on SNY and WCBS 880.
