[Men's Basketball] No. 10 DWU Rallies in Second Half Past MBB

Doane Men's Basketball closed out the home slate of the schedule on Saturday with an afternoon contest against Dakota Wesleyan. DWU was able to rally in the second half to post a 79-64 win over the Tigers.

The game opened with DWU hitting a pair of 3-point baskets for a 6-0 lead. Doane answered with 12 straight points and held the lead for the final 15 minutes of the opening half. The Tigers were 6-of-14 behind the arc while DWU hit four.

In the final 20 minutes, the game belonged to DWU. Dakota Wesleyan shot 68-percent in the final half and out-scored the Tigers 46-28. DWU hit 6-of-12 from behind the arc in the second half while Doane was 2-of-7.

Anthony Laravie (JR/Omaha, Neb.) led the Tigers with 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Miguel Lopez (JR/St. Croix, US Virgin Islands) finished with 16 points and tied for team-high honors with six rebounds. Joe Burt (SO/Lincoln, Neb.) picked up 13 points. Zach Witters (JR/Lenexa, Kan.) added six rebounds to give the Tigers a trio to lead the way in the category as Doane held a 34-31 advantage on the boards.

Prior to the game, Doane recognized their two seniors Isiah Sykes (SR/Jefferson City, Mo.) and Garran Pauli (SR/Omaha, Neb.).

The Tigers will hit the road for the final two games of the season. Next up will be a trip to Hastings to take on the Broncos at 8 PM on Wednesday, February 19.
