Fans are asked to evacuate Hawkins Field after lightning appeared in the area as they were watching the 2019 NCAA Men’s College World Series Final game as Vanderbilt plays Michigan Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in Nashville, Tenn.

Vanderbilt University's Hawkins Field is being evacuated due to severe weather in the area.

The field was hosting a watch party for the 2019 NCAA Men's College World Series Championship Game, where Vanderbilt is facing off against Michigan.

Party-goers were being moved to Memorial Gym.

Across town, the Nashville SC game has been indefinitely delayed due to severe weather concerns.

Nashville was hit by heavy rains earlier in the afternoon, and the National Weather Service reported a strong thunderstorm moving through east Davidson County around 8:30 p.m., that could include pea-sized hail and high winds.

Reports of lightning were widespread across Nashville on Wednesday evening, including near the Vanderbilt campus west of Downtown.

This coverage is ongoing, check back for updates.
