[Men's Soccer] Men's Soccer Prepare for Exhibitions

Owensboro, KY - The Brescia University Men's Soccer team have been hard at work with preseason since last Monday. Both the coaching staff and the team are very excited about the upcoming season and potential that lies within the team. As classes begin at the university and with the regular season quickly approaching, the Bearcats are turning their attention to a pair of exhibitions.

First, Brescia will travel up Fort Wayne, Indiana to partake in the National Soccer Festival (http://www.nationalsoccerfestival.com/ ). Hosted by the University of Saint Francis, The National Soccer Festival is in its 20th year of existence. On Friday, August 17th, at Bishop D'Arcy Stadium at the University of Saint Francis, the evening will begin with a 6:00 PM EST kick-off with Michigan State University (NCAA D I) vs. Xavier University (NCAA D I), followed by an 8:00 PM EST. contest between Indiana University (NCAA D I) and Akron University (NCAA D I).  The final game of the evening will feature University of Saint Francis vs. Brescia University at 10:00 PM EST.

Brescia will then head down to Campbellsville University on Monday, August 20th for a 7 PM EST kick-off. Campbellsville is coming off a 14-win season, in which they finished the year by receiving votes in the NAIA final poll and made a run into the semi-finals of the National Christian College Athletic Association.

"We are very excited about these two exhibitions and I know the boys cannot wait to get out on the pitch and compete. We have a great group of boys this season and they have been working incredibly hard here in the preseason. Both team (Saint Francis & Campbellsville) will be a good test for us and a good measure for the boys. I'm excited to let the boys loose and we hope to get some results here in the preseason" stated Head Coach Will Van Nostrand.

Brescia open up their regular season on the road vs St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Sunday, August 26th at 2 PM EST.
