Royals lose to also bad Rangers 6-3

0
Not tonight, boys.

Kennedy touched up for five runs in six innings, more than enough to sink these Royals

So the Royals lost again. This loss was against the Texas Rangers. The Rangers were 15 games under .500 to start action tonight.

Ian Kennedy served up two dongs, one in the first and one in the third, the last one putting the Rangers up 5-0. It should go without saying that the 2018 Royals did not storm back from a five-run deficit to steal one away from Texas.

Bartolo Colon let the Royals back into it a little in the home halves of the third and fourth innings. Adalberto Mondesí doubled in Rosell Herrera to put the Royals on the board and was eventually driven in by a Mike Moustakas sacrifice fly. In the next inning, Rosell Herrera tripled in Alcides Escobar but was stranded at third.

That was the entirety of the Royals scoring.

Kennedy did strike out eight in his six innings of work, but three walks and two dongs were more than enough to undo the things he did well. Shin-Soo Choo and Adrián Beltré were the men responsible for the hung dongs.

Wily Peralta pitched 1.1 innings in relief. He walked three batters (one intentionally), uncorked a wild pitch that put Jurickson Profar at third, and eventually allowed a run to score on a bunt single. Not a pretty outing in the least. Then none of the Royals outings are, are they?
