5/22/18: Open Game Thread
a brief middle-of-the-week jaunt begins
After an exhausting and emotionally draining homestand, the M’s are on a quick road trip to Oakland. The A’s have proven to be no slouch this year, boasting a lineup packed with power and whiffs. Mike Leake is up against a freshly healthy Trevor Cahill, and Scott Servais is again trotting out a different lineup with Dee Gordon’s absence.

Guillermo Heredia gets bumped all the way up to the two-spot, and Daniel Vogelbach is filling in for the dinged Nelson Cruz. While Vogey’s time with the big club this time will likely be limited to this series, it would be nice to see him hit at least one more Vogelblast before he goes away. Leake was bitten by some bad luck in his last outing, but his ground balls keep trending in the right direction. May they all find gloves tonight.
