Shuttle Time Ecuador 2025: A Visit to the Middle of the World

The Shuttle Time program continues to expand across the continent, and this time it reached Ecuador, a country well known for its location along the equatorial line, often referred to as the “Middle of the World.”

To launch the initiative in the country, tutor Eduardo Gurumendi Vera was appointed to lead the Shuttle Time course, with the goal of training local teachers who will later replicate and share their knowledge within their communities.

The course took place from July 27 to 28 last year and gathered eight physical education professionals seeking certification as Shuttle Time Teachers. Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in both theoretical and practical activities designed to support the introduction of badminton in school environments.

Beyond technical learning, the course emphasized that badminton represents more than a racket and shuttlecock—it is also a valuable tool to promote sporting values and encourage an active lifestyle among young people.

While the program was considered a success, the Badminton World Federation continues working to further strengthen the Shuttle Time initiative and support the ongoing development of badminton across the region.
