AIRBADMINTON CONTINENTAL LAUNCH
During the last Pan Am Junior 2021, Badminton Pan Am held the official launch of AirBadminton in our region.
Acapulco, Mexico, home to the XXIX Pan Am Junior Championships 2021 also received the continental launch of AirBadminton, the new outdoor game.
AirBadminton is an outdoor version of badminton designed to create more opportunities for people of all ages and ability to play badminton.
With the presence of Mr. Zarko Cukic, BPAC Board Member, and Mr. Javier Orozco, president of the Mexico Badminton Federation, the Pan Am Confederation made the official presentation of AirBadminton, a new sport that is characterized by using a new shuttlecock (AirShuttle ) and be played on Sand (competitive level), Grass and Hard (recreational level) surfaces.
Badminton is a popular, fun and inclusive sport with more than 300 million active players globally, encouraging participation and excitement with a number of health and social benefits. AirBadminton will make it easier for everyone to access these benefits using
a new shuttlecock, the AirShuttle, which has been designed to be played with existing rackets, which further supports the accessibility of the game.
During the official launch, AirBadminton exhibitions were held including 3×3 and 2×2 matches, as well as a ‘play of honor’ carried out by the authorities present.
This event was held thanks to the collaboration of the Mexico Badminton Federation, who already began with the dissemination and development of AirBadminton throughout the country.
