Junior Winners in Santo Domingo

Pan Am Junior players from Colombia, Venezuela and host Dominican Republic won the medals at IV Santo Domingo Junior International 2019 held in Santo Domingo city last weekend.

Athletes from Colombia got 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in this edition, while Venezuela won 1 silver and Dominican Republic won 2 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Emerson Barrientos (COL) won 2 gold medals. He won the crown in Singles after defeating local player Jefry Peña in a tough match (15-21, 21-16 and 22-20) and, in Men’s Doubles along with Miguel Quirama (COL) after a good victory in the final (21-12, 21-14) against Esmerlin Ortiz and Ernick Zorrilla (DOM).

Colombia added their 3rd gold in Mixed Doubles where the final match was played by Colombia’s duos. Miguel Quiarama and Manuela Restrepo won the title after a hard final match. They defeated Daniel Borja/Sara Avila by 21-17, 20-22 and 21-14.

The Women’s Podium were for Dominican Republic. Clarisa Pie won the crown in Singles after defeating Daibelis Mendoza (VEN). Daniela Acosta and Mileiky Acosta completed the podium. In Doubles, Pie along with Alisa Acosta climbed to the top after a excinting match against Sara Avila / Manuela Restrepo (COL).
