Shuttlers depart
KATHMANDU: An eight-member team on Thursday left for Maldives to take part in the third South Asian U-21 Regional Badminton Championship to be held from October 5-10 in Addu City.
The gold medal winner of Dubai International Series Prince Dahal, Prafulla Maharjan and Rukesh Maharjan will compete in boys’ section matches, while Rashila Maharjan, Jessica Gurung and Sima Rajbanshi will participate in girls’ events.
Coach Kiran Thapa and manager Nabin Bikram Shahi accompanied the players to Maldives. National Sports Council Member Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal bade farewell to the team.
