Canada, Champion Team – Pan Am Junior 2019

Team Canada won the gold at Team Event of the XXVIII Pan Am Junior Championship 2019, held in Moncton, Canada. Know our youth athletes will compete at the Individual Event for the Pan Am gold.

After 3 competition days, Canada won one more Pan Am Junior Team title in its history. Team Canada beat Peru (5-0), Chile (5-0), USA (3-2) and Brazil (5-0) in the first stage of the tournament. Then, they beat Brazil in Semifinals (3-1) and faced USA in the final, winning 3-0 to reach the gold medal.

Canada, led by coach Mike Butler and with the talent of the outstanding athletes: Kevin Wang, Wendy Zhang, Alexander Bianchi, Eliana Zhang, Yunzhi Chen, Catherine Choi, Colin Jia, Crystal Lai and Jonathan Chien, defended well the crown obtained last year.

United States of America and Brazil complete the podium. USA defeat Peru in Semifinals (3-0) and they won the silver medal after losing to Canada.

Brazil won the bronze medal after losing in Semifinals with Canada but winning against Peru in the third place match (3-0).
