While 2016 belonged to PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal dominate the headlines the years before that, 2017 saw the likes of Kidambi Srikanth, Sai Praneeth, HS Prannoy sharing the limelight with the two super-girls of Indian badminton and Gopichand feels this recent string of success ‘shows the depth of Indian badminton and more importantly the depth of work that has been done over the years’.
