Official Chinese Grand Prix - Predictions Championship 2026 - Round 2 - Results

Congratulations to smellysocks on winning the Chinese Grand Prix in an amazing battle with championship leader, TrapezeArtist. They both scored 150 points, but smellysocks won on countback after a tense scroll through the results. Let's remind ourselves how countback works:

In the event of a tie for a round win, the winner will be decided on countback. If a competitor has predicted the Grand Prix winner correctly and the other has not, the winning predictor will be the one who predicted the Grand Prix winner correctly. If those are the same, we look at 2nd place. If a predictor predicted 2nd place correctly and the other did not, the one who predicted it correctly will be awarded the win and so on right down through the top ten.

If that does not decide the win, countback will continue down the qualifying positions from 1st to 3rd and subsequently from the other predictions in the order in which they are presented below when you predict. If all of this still does not result in a winner, the winner will be the ones who predicted first. If predictions have been edited in your post, the earliest predictions of the two predictors will count.

Both competitors predicted Russell, Antonelli and Hadjar in their correct spots, so neither could take the win based on these correct predictions. They both predicted the top three Grand Prix qualifiers too (Antonelli, Russell and Leclerc). We then had to scroll down to fastest lap, which smellysocks correctly predicted as Mercedes, to get a winner. If the remaining results below had not yielded an event winner, I would have gone to the Sprint predictions, which now come before your Grand Prix predictions. This was a bit of an oversight in the way the rules were worded, so I have now amended it to say that after Grand Prix predictions have been used to find a winner in the event of a tie, we will look at Sprint predictions.

Notso Swift, please note that you didn't score points for the Rate the Grand Prix score due to putting two scores. Please just put one, regardless of whether more than one score may be available as the correct one if the mean and mode are different.

In the championship, smellysocks jumps right in on 79 points (wolfhound's last-placed championship points at the last round) and adds the 150 for China.
