OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY ALIGNS WITH GLOBAL DIRT RACING STANDARD: MICRO SPRINTS RENAMED OUTLAW KARTS
OHSWEKEN, Ont. (February 6, 2026) Ohsweken Speedway is proud to announce an official name change to its popular Thursday Night Micro Sprint program. Effective immediately, the divisions will now be known as Outlaw Karts, bringing the speedway in line with worldwide dirt racing terminology.
Across the dirt racing world, the high-flying, winged karts that have thrilled fans on Thursday nights at Ohsweken are universally referred to as Outlaw Karts. To properly align with the rest of the global dirt racing community—and to clearly reflect the style, speed, and excitement of the class—Ohsweken Speedway will adopt the same naming convention moving forward.
As part of this update, the Thursday Night program will now be known as the Kool Kidz Ice & Water Outlaw Karts powered by Two Speed Motorsports.
“This change simply puts the right name on what we’ve been racing all along,” said Clinton Geoffrey, General Manager of Ohsweken Speedway. “What we race on Thursday nights are Outlaw Karts—plain and simple. Aligning with how this class is recognized across the dirt racing world better represents the cars, the competition, and the level of racing our fans see every week.”
While the name has changed, everything fans and competitors love about Thursday night racing remains the same: fast-paced action, developing young talent, and an exciting, family-friendly atmosphere.
All Outlaw Thursday events can be seen FREE on GForceTV every Thursday night at 7:00pm, giving fans everywhere the chance to follow the action live.
Fans are encouraged to join us each Thursday for Outlaw Thursday and experience the next generation of dirt racing stars in the Kool Kidz Ice and Water Outlaw Karts powered by Two Speed Motorsports.
Ohsweken Speedway would like to sincerely thank its partners for their continued support of grassroots racing, whose commitment helps make Thursday nights possible.
