Under the generous patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Racing Club, and in front of a large crowd, the competitions of the first round of the 2026 Arabian Drag Racing League came to a close. The event featured the participation of an elite group of riders from the Gulf countries, the wider region, and the United States of America.

The three-day competition saw more than 160 racers competing across eleven championship categories. According to the competition format, Wednesday and Thursday were dedicated to qualifying runs, while Friday witnessed the knockout stages, contested in a single-elimination format leading up to the final races for the category titles.

Pro Bike

The final showdown of the most powerful motorcycle categories, the Pro Bike class, brought together Bradley McCoy and Ahmed Al-Nakhailan, ending with victory for McCoy to record his first win of the championship. Al-Nakhailan settled for second place, the same position he achieved in the opening round of last season, while last season’s champion Mishaal Al-Sabr finished third in this round.

Super Street Bike

The Super Street Bike category also witnessed success for last season’s champion Mishari Al-Turki, who claimed the title of this round after defeating qualifying leader Mohammed Bourashed in the final race. Bourashed finished second, while Mousa Al-Balushi secured third place.

Street Bike

In the Street Bike category, Mohammed Al-Salem captured the title after reaching the final race and overcoming Dawood Al-Sharshani, who finished second, while last season’s champion Mustafa Mahmoudi had to settle for third place in this round.

At the conclusion of the competitions, His Excellency Sheikh Jabor bin Khalid Al Thani, Director General of Qatar Racing Club, presented the awards to the top three finishers on the podium in front of a distinguished crowd and with the presence of several Qatari and Gulf media outlets. Thus, the first round of the championship came to an end, as preparations begin for the second round, scheduled to kick off on Wednesday, 14 January of the current month.
