Louie Jackson Jr wins his 2nd feature of 2025 at Cornwall Motor Speedway!
Cornwall, ON – Sunday, August 24, 2025 – Martin Belanger – After a week off due to inclement weather, Cornwall Motor Speedway roared back to life on JLB Heating and Cooling Night. It was a busy evening of racing with qualifying action for the Canadian Super DIRT Weekend in the 358-Modifieds, Sportsman, and Mini-Stock divisions, along with a special double 15-lap Novice Sportsman event paying $500 to win each. The Street Stocks were also in attendance.
In the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modified feature, Louie Jackson jumped to the early lead over Joey Ladouceur and Ryan Stabler. Jackson set the pace with the Ladouceur brothers, Joey and Lee, giving chase. Behind them, plenty of movement occurred as Stabler climbed to second and Corey Wheeler grabbed third at the halfway point. Wheeler would later move into second with six laps to go, but Jackson was untouchable, leading wire-to-wire to score his second win of the season, followed by Wheeler and Joey Ladouceur.
The Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman feature saw Jeffrey Lapalme take command early over Elliot Gamache and Bobby Herrington. Herrington quickly worked his way to second by lap 2. A caution on lap 4 slowed the field, but on the restart, Herrington and Lapalme battled for the top spot. Herrington took control and never looked back, scoring his first feature win over Tristan Ladouceur and Lapalme.
In the Ricks Ranch Mini-Stock 25-lap feature, Adrian Black took the early lead with Travis Lamarche in second and Sébastien Raymond-Beauregard in third. Lap traffic quickly came into play, with Raymond-Beauregard moving to the front by lap 9. After a caution at halfway, the action intensified as Lamarche and Raymond-Beauregard swapped the lead several times. In the closing laps, Lamarche surged ahead and held on to capture his second win of the season, with Black finishing second after slipping past Raymond-Beauregard.
The 25-lap Street Stock feature opened with Tyler French out front, but Vincent Charbonneau grabbed the lead on lap 2. A caution on lap 5 regrouped the field, but Charbonneau remained in control. With five laps remaining, another caution appeared as Stéphane Philippe, running second, slowed. Charbonneau kept his advantage and scored his first-ever Cornwall victory.
The Fun Zone Party Inflatables Novice Sportsman twin 15-lap events provided plenty of action. In the first feature, Léa-Jeanne Lauzière led the field early, surviving a multi-car incident in turn 4 to dominate the race and capture her first career win at Cornwall, finishing ahead of Christopher Cordeau and Shaun Lafave. In the second feature, Kyle Kudrinko led every lap to secure the victory, with Chris Wilson and Chris Cordeau rounding out the podium.
Cornwall Motor Speedway now turns its attention to a massive Championship Night next Sunday as the 2025 regular season comes to a close. Champions will be crowned in all divisions, and fans will also witness the Fat Les Chip Stands Canadian Nationals Modified Series, Lamoureux Pumping Sportsman Series, PM Promotions Pro-Stock Series, and Weekend Warriors Mini-Stock Series.
