Austrian GP: Day of disappointment for Williams Racing
After a mixed qualifying the Atlassian Williams Racing Team still went into the 2025 Austrian GP with a feeling of optimism that the race could still see a points result given their confidence over their race pace. But it would all go wrong before the race had even started with Carlos Sainz not been able to get away with the field as they left the grid for their parade lap. He would eventually get his car to move off the grid and would complete a lap and enter the pit lane looking to start the race from the pit exit. But as he sat waiting we would see the rear of his car burst into flames. The fire was quickly put out but that fire ended Carlos race. The fires seemed to originate from the rear brakes. Anyway Alex Albon was able to start the race and after some crashes between other cars was running in 7th and would move up to 6th. He would pit but quickly would return and we would be shown his car been pushed back into his garage and into retirement. The team announced that they were investigating the cause of Alex's retirement. Such a disappointing day for Williams Racing.
