BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY AT KEVIN HARVICK’S KERN RACEWAY RETURNS TO ACTION MAY 10th

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (May 7, 2025) – The fourth IMCA points race of the season hits the dirt on Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. The newly remodeled one-third mile dirt track has entertained race fans with outstanding fields of drivers and plenty of side-by-side racing action. The excitement continues on May 10th with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, H&S Body Works Hobby Stocks, and American Stocks competing. General Admission tickets are on sale now at www.BakersfieldSpeedway.com or on TheFOAT. Adult general admission tickets are just $18 with kids ages 6-12 admitted for just $10 and kids five and under are free! Parking is free of charge. Tickets are also available at the gates when grandstands open at 4pm. Opening ceremonies are at 6pm.

2024 IMCA Modified track champion Gavyn Manning of Bakersfield broke through for his first Kern dirt track win on Friday night April 18 and leads the championship by five points. Veteran and multi-time champion Brad Pounds is second in the standings, searching for his first win of 2025 in a 30-lap feature. Bryan Clark, opening night winner Robby Sawyer, and Reno, Nevada’s Katelynn Robertson are also in pursuit. Jake Pike of Pahrump, Nevada is the other IMCA Modified winner this year out of the 41 different drivers who have already participated this season.

Tate Loftis of Bakersfield has managed a narrow three point advantage in the IMCA Sport Modified division ahead of two-time 2025 winner Tyler Bannister. 2024 Bakersfield Speedway champion Jason Bannister has yet to taste victory but is third in the standings. Cale Kanke of Frazier Park and Santa Maria visitor Matthew Frazier make up the balance of the top-five with a 25-lap main event scheduled. Chris McKellar moved up to ninth in the standings with his win in April.

The IMCA Stock Cars continue to grow in Bakersfield with double digit fields and close racing action. Austin VanHoff of Chowchilla won the season opener and has maintained that pace to take the points lead by three points over Porterville’s Raymond Noland. Justin Schweitzer of Bakersfield is third followed by Dan Bryant of Taft and round three winner Roger Holder of Bakersfield. Round three winner Steven Johnson is seventh in the standings heading into Saturday’s 20-lap race.

Nicholas Johnson of Bakersfield has pulled out to a large 26 point lead in the H&S Body Works Hobby Stocks championship battle, bolstered by two wins. Marcus Wankum of Wasco, Ethan Johnson of Bakersfield, Troy Thomas, Jr. of Bakersfield, and James Cornelius of Tulare are in a tightly wwound battle for second in the championship with just 16 points between them.

Kyle Wood of Bakersfield is yet to strike victory gold in the American Stocks but leads the standings with three top-five finishes. Carson Conway of Bakersfield broke into the win column in round two and is second in the order. 2024 Bakersfield Speedway champion Sunnie Simkins has adapted well to her new surroundings in third. Cameron Campbell of Taft and Jon McKinley are fourth and fifth. Two-time winner Nicholas Johnson ranks sixth.
