Tune-Up at Southside Works – July 16
The PVGP looks forward to partying SouthSide Style for our annual Tune-Up as we prepare for the races and car show across the river just a few days later.
The Grand Prix’s Tune-Up Party has been a popular Race Week event since it was created in 2006 at Bossa Nova downtown. It grew quickly and spread across the Roberto Clemente Bridge and PNC Park, then onto Heinz Field for two years. The party shifted to the SouthSide Works in 2021.
Hundreds of cars, including exotics, antiques, and show cars, gather for a fabulous car show at this exciting street festival surrounding SHOP 412 and the SouthSide Works Town Square. Thanks to Merrill, Bank of America, and Porsche Pittsburgh for their tremendous support!
Participation in this year’s Tune-Up Party is still just $50. You get a reserved parking spot within the Automotive Showcase, 2 drink coupons for the driver, redeemable at one of the drink stations, are included. You can also register any guests for $20 each to receive two complimentary drink coupons. There are plenty of great places to eat and drink in Town Square. The PVGP will also have food and drink trucks available. The Altered Egos will perform in the plaza in front of the Cheesecake Factory.
Registration can be done HERE. We strongly encourage you to pre-register now – the event typically sells out, and no day-of options are available.
Two Distinct Car Shows at Pitt Race – Weekend July 12/13
Bring your show car to the track and enjoy an unforgettable Pittsburgh International Race Complex racing weekend! Experience the heart-pounding thunder of the PVGP Historics at Pitt Race. If you are looking for speed, muscle and thunder, this is the place to be. Since 2004, racers from all over the country have come to the 2.8-mile purpose-built track 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh for fierce competition between the legends of the ’60s and early ’70s, including Mustangs, Corvettes, Jaguars, BMWs, Porsches and Alfa Romeos. An added feature this year is the Panoz Reunion. DETAILS
Your admission to the track includes free parking outside the front gates. If you want to park trackside, there are two compelling options:
Car Corral at Water Tower – $10/Day
Get into the Car Corral, a special car display around the water tower at the final three turns 17, 18 and 19. This grassy area offers a prime view of the back straight and final turn leading to the finish line. A $10 donation per day (in addition to gate admission) secures your spot. It’s the perfect place to show off your vehicle and soak in the action.
Spectator Hill VIP Parking – $30/Day
Want the widest and best track view? Park on top of Spectator Hill for just $30 per day. Set up your tailgate or pop-up tent and enjoy the races all day. You can watch the cars in front of you coming out of turn 1 and heading down the straightaway toward Coyote Gulch. See the racers pop back up at turn 7 and navigate through turn 12.
