BTCC The BTCC Game 2025
This thread serves as the entry mechanism for the 'BTCC Game 2025'.
With the grid being smaller than 30, and following feedback from last time, the updated rules are given below.
Once the final entry list is revealed, which will be taken from the official site on 15th April, all you need to do is pick one driver per race.
Their finishing position is the number of points you will score.
Every driver must be selected at least once, and no driver can be selected more than twice.
The points awarded are based on the finishing position of that driver, up to the full amount of drivers entered.
For instance, if you pick Ashley Sutton for a race and he wins then you score 1 point... Should you choose Tom Chilton and he finishes last, then your score is equal to the amount of drivers entered.
I've tried to keep it simple and allow you to enter once and basically forget about it for the rest of the season.
PLEASE READ THE RULES!
The Rules:
01) The player with the lowest total score at the end of the season will be the winner.
02) Pick one driver per race (first name and surname, only the driver, not the finishing position).
03) You must choose each driver from the official entry list once in the season. You can choose any driver no more than twice during the season. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have not picked a driver more than twice. Any invalid picks will earn a maximum score, regardless of how many cars are entered for that race.
04) Points will be awarded based on the finishing position of the driver picked... i.e. 1st scores 1 point, all the way down to maximum points for last.
05) Should a driver retire from a race, then you will score points for the equivalent position they finish in... i.e. the driver to retire first finishes last, therefore maximum points will be scored.
06) Should more than one driver retire on the same lap, then those drivers will score the same number of points... e.g. if five drivers retire on the first lap, each of those drivers will score maximum points.
07) Should a driver fail to start a race or be disqualified/excluded, then you will score points equivalent to the total number of cars entered for the race (taken from the entry list published on the BARC website).
08) Should a driver be replaced or substituted, the replacement will count as your pick. For the avoidance of doubt, this game only takes the drivers into account and not the teams they drive for. For example in 2017, Dan Lloyd left 888 and the series mid-season. Josh Cook filled the gap at that team. Dennis Strandberg then joined the series to fill the gap left by Cook at Maximum Motorsport. Stewart Lines then replaced Strandberg for the rest of the year. In this situation, Strandberg was seen as the replacement for Lloyd, and Lines the replacement for Strandberg. Cook never left, so any occasion on which he was picked was unaffected.
09) In rare cases where multiple drivers are replaced at the same time, teams WILL be taken into account. For example, if Driver A leaves Team A (and the series) and Driver B leaves Team B (and the series), and Driver C joins Team A (and the series) and Driver D joins Team B (and the series), then Driver C will be seen as the replacement for Driver A and Driver D the replacement for Driver B.
10) Should a driver miss a round and not be replaced, that entry will score the maximum points for that race.
11) If a driver misses a round without being replaced and nobody picks them for that round, the above rule will be ignored.
12) For the purposes of scoring and avoidance of doubt, the results of each race will be taken from tsl-timing.com
13) Picks can only be entered, changed, updated or amended up until 00:00 BST Saturday 26th April. Late entries will score maximum points for each round missed, regardless of pick.
14) Scores will be updated as soon as possible after each event.
15) If scores are tied at the end of the game, the player who picked a winning driver the most times will be ranked higher. If tied players pick winning drivers the same number of times, the player who picked the most second place finishers will be ranked higher. If players are still tied, picks of third place finishers (and so on) will be used to break the tie.
16) If scores are still tied after the above process then whoever picked a winning driver earliest in the season will be ranked higher. If there is still a tie, the process will be repeated for second place finishers then third place finishers, and so on.
17) If scores are still tied after the above two rules have been followed, the player who submitted their picks the earliest will be ranked higher.
18) Most of these rules are included for clarity and are really only for me to worry about. Players should not, and do not need to, change their picks during the season.
19) This game has been posted on other forums.
20) For the 2025 season, a 'dropped score' system is being implemented. This will mean that, for every driver you have picked twice, their best result will be dropped. For example - If you have selected Hill twice and his two results are a 1st place and a 10th place, the 1st place (1pt) will be dropped from your score.
