Written By: William Burkhart

The FAST 410 sprint cars would see Cody Bova and Leyton Wagner lead the field to the green for the 30 lap main event. Wagner would jump out to the early lead with Bova and 2023 champion Tyler Gunn in third. First yellow would fly on lap 3 with Gage Etgen spinning in turn number 2. Back under the green Brandon Spithaler would challenge Cody Bova for second. The two would go back and forth for the second spot. Lap 12 would see Spithaler finally get past the 20 of Cody Bova before a pair of cars would spin to bring out another Bucks Auto Sales Yellow Flag. Wagner would get another great restart and drive away from the charging Brandon Spithaler. Lap 19 would see the 81 of Lee Jacobs having issues and coming to a stop. This would prompt FAST officials to bring the field to a stop for a fuel stop. Refueled and reset the field would go back to green. Zane DeVault would slide into the third spot with 9 laps left to go and try and track down the 22 of Brandon Spithaler for the second spot. It looked as if Leyton Wagner had this race in the bag until a red flag would fly for the 25R of Jordan Ryan getting upside down in turn 2. Ryan would push the 25R back to the hot pit and would rejoin the field for a 3 lap shootout. Back under the green Spithaler would try a slide job. Wagner would drive around him. Wagner would tag the wall as DeVault would get past Spithaler. He would close the gap on Wagner and make a late race run. DeVault would try one more slide job but it wouldn’t stick. Wagner would win his first ever feature in a 410. DeVault second and Spithaler third.

A speedy Eric Wilson and the almost unstoppable Kyle Moore would bring the field to the green for the Malcuit Tavern Ump Late Models. Moore would bring the field to the green. Eric Wilson and Mike Bores would throw down for the second spot with Nathan Loney in the mix for the spot as well. The field would start to spread out as Moore would jump out to a huge lead over the 217 of Wilson. After a couple of cautions Loney would battle for second once again but couldn’t get by. Then Rusty Schlenk would get past the 10 of Loney for the third spot on lap 14. With 8 to go bad luck would strike the 14 of Gentry once again as JR Gentry would break and slap the wall ending his evening. Lap 17 saw Wilson and Bores battle for second before the yellow would fly for a flat right rear on the 91 of Schlenk. Back under green Moore would still lead as Wilson and Bores would duke it out for second. Wilson would tag the wall losing some ground to Bores. As the battle for second calmed down The Mansfield Madman Kyle Moore would pick up his 9th straight win at Wayne County. Mike Bores in second and Eric Wilson third.

The Glass House super stocks became a 3 man duel. Long time racer Paul Holmes would take the inside pole with Denny Shear to his outside. Braden Tucke would come out with starter issues. Holmes would jump to the early lead over Shear. As they exited turn 4 Shear would get past the 70 of Holmes. As the pair took the opening lap Tucke would finally get the Glass House 18 car fired up and join the field one lap down. Holmes would jump out to a three car length lead over Shear. Tucke would stay with the pair trying to get pass them to get his lap back. Caution would fly due to debris on the track. Back under the green Shear would get by the 70 of Holmes and take the lead on lap 6. Braden Tucke also found his lap back and would run the 18 car hard to try and come back around to get the win. Holmes would keep Shaer within Striking distance and would pull long side him with two to go. Holmes would stay to the top. Shear to the bottom. Shear would finally shake the 70 off him and pick up his second ever Street Stock win and his first with the Glass House Super Stocks at Wayne County.

Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service King Of The County for the Modifieds would take to the track. Painesville’s Nate Young and Orrville’s Caden Alexander would bring the field to green. Young would jump out to the early lead with Alexander in hot pursuit. Jimmy Humphrey would work the bottom and catch the leaders before a yellow would fly for Brent Coffman. Back under the green Alexander would try the slider but Young would cross under him for the lead. Casey Butler would start to come alive making a charge for the second spot. Yellow would fly on lap 9 for a stopped Robby Ledger. Young, Humphrey, and Butler would battle for the lead before Tristen Bickford coming would spin on lap 11. Young would still maintain the lead. Humphrey would work the bottom with Butler on the top side. Casey Butler would finally get past Humphrey for second try and track down Nate Young. Butler would try everything he could but couldn’t get it done as Nate Young would win his second of the year at Wayne County. Butler 2nd and Humphrey 3rd.

The tail of two champions would make up the front row of the Joyride Transport Mini Stocks. The aspiring champion Anthony Collins would start pole with the multi time champion Doug Hensel on his outside. Collins would jump out to the lead. Hensel would run in second. After a spinning Brian Baker would bring out a yellow the field would go back to green. The yellow would quickly fly as Doug Hensel would break in the right rear ending his run. Justin Cranmore would inherit the second spot. Lap 4 would see a loose a wheel fly off the 711 of Kenny Long to bring out a yellow. On the restart Anthony Collins would spin collecting a few others. This would bring a premature end to Collins lead. Justin Cranmore would once again inherit a spot of Cody Musselman in second. Mussellman and Johnny Bruce would battle for second as Cranmore would drive away from the pack. Zach Hershy would slide into second as Bruce and Was Staley would battle for third. Cranmore would pick up his second win of 2024 with a 7 second lead over second place finsher Zach Hershy. Johnny Bruce would finish third.

The race to the Championship presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts continue this Saturday with Quota of Wayne County Kids Night presented by Coffman Corvette and Serpentini Chevrolet of Orrville.
