MOORE SWEEPS THE NIGHT, HENSEL GOES BACK TO BACK, GEIRKE GETS REDEMPTION, SANCHEZ WINS A THRILLER

A matchup we’ve seen multiple times this season would bring us to the green for the Malcuits Tavern UMP Late Models with Wooster’s JR Gentry on the pole and Mansfield’s Kyle Moore on the outside. Kyle Moore and third place starter Todd Brennen would battle for the top spot. Moore would jump out the early lead with Brennen in hot pursuit. The first yellow would fly on lap 3 with Geno Cizmada spinning. Back to green Moore would run away with the lead. Todd Brennen and JR Gentry would be on hot pursuit. The field would encounter another yellow from a spinning Dominic Denero. The field go back to green and pick up business where they left off. Lap 5 would see Ryan Markham enter the 3rd spot in the Brad Malcuit owned 79 car. Mike Basich would spin on lap 8 to bring out another Bucks Auto Sales yellow flag. Cory Conley, who had started in the 15th spot was up in the 7th spot. After a few cars would get together and spin we would get the field refired and back under the green. Brennen would once again take a look under the 1* of Moore but couldn’t get by. Moore would open a two second lead over new second place runner Ryan Markham. Chase Coffman would spin on lap 12 to bring out another yellow. The field would see about 6 laps of racing action before Kristin Uhler would spin. At the restart Jr Gentry would put his 14 car up to the topside and pass 3 cars to put him back into the third spot. On the following lap Todd Brennen would slide up in front of Gentry causing JR to spin collecting 3 others. 14 Laps to go the field would go back to the green. Moore would put his Tye Twoarg Longhorn Chassis on the top side of the track and once again begin his charge ahead of the 79 of Ryan Markham. 9 laps to go, Michigan Native Nick Kurtz would drive past the 20 of Todd Brennen for the third spot. Moore would drive off to a 4 second win over the 79 of Ryan Markham and Nick Kurtz in 3rd.

Moore would end his shift in his late Model and hop into the Bob Daugherty owned 21D for the 15 lap Glass House Super Stock feature. He would be joined on the front by Braden Tucke coming off of a 3-race win streak. Moore would jump out the early start third place starter Josh Morrow would hop into the second spot. Morrow would roll the bottom in his 9 car as Moore would stick to the top in the 21D machine. The first Buck Auto Sales yellow would come out on lap 2 when the 45 of Denny Shear would spin. Green would come back out and Moore would continue his charge with Morrow hot in tail. Braden Tucke and Brad Hensel would battle side by side for the third spot. Moore could only hold a little over a half second lead as Morrow would stay right with him on the bottom. Lap 10 would see Hensel pull off the track with Mechanical issues. Morrow would have to dodge a lap car securing a big lead for Kyle Moore. As Kyle Moore would enter turn 3 to come take the Checkered Paul Holmes would spin to bring out a yellow to et up a one lap shootout for the win. Morrow would try to hold off the 21D of Moore but wouldn’t be enough as Kyle Moore would head back to Summit Racing Victory Lane. Morrow would take home second and Braden Tucke third.

The Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service UMP Modifieds would see a rematch three weeks in the making with Ryan Markham on the pole and July 6th winner Caden Alexander on the front row. The field would have a WAR for the lead off the start. Ryan Markham would get the early lead as Kevin Davis would jump out to the early lead. New York native Danny Sanchez would battle with Davis for the top spot. The events first yellow would fly on lap 2 for debris followed by a spinning Tyler Wiles then a third for a couple more spinning. Once back under the green Davis would still show the field around the 3/8-mile oval. Brad Goff would make a huge move on lap 3 going from 7th to third. The Zanesville Native would run the top before spinning it turn number three on lap five. Goff would be down but now out, more on that later. Davis and Snchez would battle for the lead once again. As we saw a trio of cars spin. Under the next restart Jason King would drive into the second spot over Danny Sanchez. Jimmy Humphrey would enter the ring. Humphrey would drive past the 89 of King and Move into second. Sanchez who had fallen back two positions would go to the top and drive past the pair. Lap 9 Brad Goff would breeze past the 89 and 60 to re-enter the third spot. Jessie Griffits would fall off the pace to stack up the field on lap 10. Davis and Sanchez would show the field back to the green. Sanchez would move up to the top side and drive past the 12 of Davis for the lead. Brad Goff and Kevin Davis would battle for the second spot with Jimmy Humphrey in hot purist. Sanchez would move to a big lead as Goff would get by the 12 of Davis. Goff would RAPIDLY catch the 463 of Sanchez. As it looked like Goff would rip the top once more the turn 2 berm would catch th e41 of Goff sending him all over the backstretch and would end with the 41 upside down in the pit road entrance. Goff would climb out unhurt. Davis and Snchez would line up for a 4-lap shootout. Sanchez would hop out to the early lead. Kevin Davis would be hot in tow with Jimmy Humphrey running in the third spot. Sanchez would stick to his line and even tag the wall in turn 4 would drive off to his second Wayne County win in 2024. Davis and Humphrey would make up your top three.

Justin Cranmore and Micthell Randolph would show the Joyride Transport Mini Stocks to green for the second round of the Henthorn Golf Cart Sales King of The County. Cranmore would show the early race lead with Anthony Collins hot in pursuit for second. Brent Boreman would run in third. Lap 4 saw Doug Hensel make a move to third over the 28 of Boreman before a yellow flag would come out. On the restart Hensel and Collins would battle for the second spot. Collins would hold the top side of the track with Doug Hensel on the bottom. Lap 8 would see Anthony Collins off the pace. This would later be discovered to be a transmission issue for the 71 car. The yellow would fly once again as Brian Baker and Trent Bishop would tangle up in turn number one. Back under the green Cranmore and Hensel would go for the win Kyle Pettit in hot pursuit. Cranmore would shake off the 18 of Hensel and begin to open a big lead over the 18. With 2 to go the 71 of Collins would shut off once more. He would refire. Hensel and Cranmore would drag the feild into turn one. Cranmore would have another lead until the 2 would break coming to the white. Doug Hensel would pick up the feature win with Kyle Pettit in second and Mitch Richard in third.

The modlites would make an unscheduled but welcome stop to Orrville’s Historic Oval. A rematch from June would arise between the previous feature winner Jimmy Smith and hot shoe driver Nash Gierke on the pole. Gierke would jump out to the early lead with Smith in hot pursuit. Third place starter John Large would get quite the run on the bottom before going around in turn number one and two to bring out the yellow. Back under the green Gierke would lead the field once more to the Green Jimmy Smith would run in second with Chip Bailey in third. Drew Duncan and Chip Bailey would battle for third. Jon Large would start to drive through the field once again battling for third with Bailey for 5 laps to go. Gierke had a 5 second lead over Smith as he would take the White flag. Just when he had it all wrapped up John Large in the 7 would spin to bring out the Bucks Auto Sales Yellow flag. This would set up a one lap dash. Gierke would hit his marks with Smith on the top. Gierke would hold and to win the feature after coming up one spot short a month ago. Jimmy Smith would come home second and Mike Amass would finish third.

After a two week break for the Summer Nationals and Kings Royal Sprint Cars will return to WCS with the FAST 410 sprint cars. Malcuits Tavern UMP Late Models, Glass House Super Stocks, Joyride Transport Mini Stocks, and the second round of the Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service UMP Modifieds King Of The County.
