Plastic Fantastic – A 1:1 Audi R18 Model In LEGO!

Tom Kristensen unveiled a full scale 1:1 LEGO model of his 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours winning Audi R18 TDI e-tron quattro yesterday as part of the Classic Race Aarhus event in Denmark.

Chief designer Caspar Bennedsen from Brick Works ApS was there to show the nine times Le Mans winner over his team’s creation which took a team of eight some 1445 hours of work!

“How great a job you, Caspar, and your employees have done,” said a clearly impressed Tom Kristensen at the unveiling. “What you can do with LEGO bricks is absolutely amazing. It has gone well. The model really shows that it is a dedicated person who has been behind it.”

“I am very proud of the result that has come out of the efforts,” says Poul Dalsgaard, director of Classic Race Aarhus. “I would like to thank Caspar, LEGO and Tom for the good cooperation.”

“Caspar had an idea that we should make a collaboration. I knew that Tom Kristensen and Classic Race Aarhus were also ready, and here we are with the result, ”says Line Ann La Cour, LEGO Brand and Event Manager for the Nordics.

The model of the Audi R18-Le Mans racer will be seen on Saturday and Sunday in Mindeparken during Classic Race Aarhus.
